Kunming 昆明

昆明是云南省的省会，西南地区的中心城市之一，国家历史文化名城，我国重要的旅游、商贸城市。 昆明地处云南省中部，与同云南省接壤的缅甸、老挝、越南毗邻相望。全市幅员面积21111平方公里，大部地区海拔在1500米至2800米之间，为山原地貌。城区海拔1891米，三面环山，南濒滇池，“城枕群山廓面湖，山川风景堪画图”，湖光山色，天然成趣，具有良好的空间环境。

Kunming is the capital of Yunnan Province, one of the central cities in Southwest China, and a national historical and cultural city. It is also an important hub for tourism and commerce in China.

Located in the central part of Yunnan Province, Kunming borders Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam through the neighboring areas of Yunnan. The city covers a total area of 21,111 square kilometers. Most of its terrain lies between 1,500 and 2,800 meters above sea level, characterized by a mountainous plateau landscape.

The urban area sits at an elevation of 1,891 meters, surrounded by mountains on three sides and bordered to the south by Dianchi Lake. Described as “a city resting against mountain ranges and facing a lake, with picturesque scenery,” Kunming boasts natural beauty with its harmonious blend of mountains and water, offering an excellent spatial environment.
