Xiamen 厦门

厦门市位于福建省南部沿海，北纬24°25’―24°55’，东经117°53’―118°27’。面积1640.2平方千米。辖鼓浪屿、思明、开元、杏林、湖里、集美、同安7个区。人口131.27万，其中汉族占99.3％，还有回、满、壮、畲、苗、高山等20多个少数民族。通行闽南方言。 厦门市天风海涛，青山绿水，奇卉异木，鸟语花香，天地玄妙造化，构成了独特的自然地貌，飞扬着沁人的色香神韵，素有“海上花园”称誉。

Xiamen is located on the southern coast of Fujian Province, between 24°25′ to 24°55′ north latitude and 117°53′ to 118°27′ east longitude, covering an area of 1,640.2 square kilometers.

The city administers seven districts: Gulangyu, Siming, Kaiyuan, Xinglin, Huli, Jimei, and Tongan. Xiamen has a population of approximately 1.3127 million, with the Han ethnic group making up 99.3% of the population. Over 20 ethnic minorities, including the Hui, Manchu, Zhuang, She, Miao, and Gaoshan, also reside in the city. The Minnan dialect is commonly spoken.

Xiamen is blessed with ocean breezes and sea waves, lush mountains and clear waters, rare flowers and exotic trees, and a chorus of birdsong and floral fragrance. Its unique natural landscape, shaped by the wonders of nature, exudes a refreshing charm and poetic beauty. It is famously known as a “Garden on the Sea.”
